There is no evidence that dogs go prowling in kennels to bite innocent people.
There are millions of cases of abused marriage partners-usually women- who have to finally do something to defend themas elves. The evidence with the preachers wife may have left some doubt because abuse is so common and the preacher had a history. Dogs who bite people usually get put down very soon.

Thankfully, our judicial system gives sentencing on a case by case basis.
i don't know the details, but usually, when a wife shoots her husband, it is to end her own lengthy victimization of an abusive relationship.
a dog fight, however, is just cruelty.

Wow, you incredibly misrepresent the facts of *both* cases. First of all, Vick's plea will entitle the judge to sentence him up to five (not 25) years in jail. In reality, with the Sentencing Guidelines, his sentence will be even less. Secondly, the woman was found *not guilty* by reason of mental disease or defect (battered woman's syndrome). That means that she convinced a jury of her peers that she was not legally responsible for her actions. As such, she was required to have a psychiatric evaluation and when it was deemed that she was not a threat to society, she was released.
It must be nice living in your revisionist world.

Get your facts straight. It's up to 5 years, not 25.

Not excusing Vick at all, and he probably will only get a year or probation. But the lady that shot her husband got less time than some drunk drivers got.

1st - it's not 25 years. He may only get a few months.
2nd - It's a different set of circumstances. It's not as black and white as you think.

Its all related to the victim. Which has more value.
I personally know a man who intentionally shot and killed his wife. "HER" family supplied the funds for his defense and the court ultimately gave him a sentence of probation.
