He'll get no more than 10 to 18 months in a minimum security prison and fines... kinda like Martha Stewart... but let's remember that the biggest punishment that Vick can receive is the end of his NFL career. I'm not too sure that is going to happen though.
I think Vick's lawyers have been doing a lot of talking with NFL officials and the Commissioner about what type of punishment the NFL would levy on Vick should he take a plea deal. I don't think that Vick would take a plea deal that includes a reduced prison term (most think it'll be a 12 month sentence) if he was ensured by the NFL that at some point after his release from prison, maybe a season or two afterwards, he'll be able to resume his NFL career as a free agent.
If the NFL told Vick's lawyers that if Vick took a plea he'd be automatically banned from the NFL, I think Vick would rather take his chances and go to trial. Most people say that if Vick went to trial and was convicted, his sentence wouldn't be more than six years in prison. That'd be long enough to pretty much end his NFL career but definately not a lifetime and probably worth it if the only way he could get back into the NFL was to be proven not guilty.

Well, I hope he spends AT LEAST 1 year in prison. I would think Goddell will tack on another year in a suspension. If any owner is desperate enough to bring Vick on board, you likely won't see him in an NFL uniform until 2009 at the earliest.

Nothing they should let him off the hook and let him go back to play for the falcons... but .. he better win all his games because if he fails to perform well we are going to hang him from a tree and if that dosent work we will just burry his head in a big bucket of water.
