Ok. This is so gross but we have roaches. We found one last week (texas sized) and called an exterminator. The guy came in and sprayed some stuff and left, without talking to us.
Ever since, I see a roach almost every morning. We always kill it though.

Is our problem getting worse or do you think this stuff is working? I have no idea what he sprayed and now I'm bleaching everything again to try to help the problem myself.

Thanks!

I am so afraid of bugs that its not even funny. I live in an apartment building which is very close quarters so if one person has them we all have them.

1.) Keep all foods put away, keep the floors clean, and the kitchen

2.)Call the exterminator back. There is no reason why they should be worst than before.

3.) Try Borax. It seem to work on keeping all bugs way from my place--except for some centipedes.

4.) Home Defense Max. Its in your local Wal-Mart, Loew's, ect

Mix equal parts of powdered sugar and baking soda.

This will not harm children or pets if they ingest it. Just spread it around and under things.

I took plaster of paris, mix with water plugged all entry places that roaches could get in the house.

Borax and boric acid is good, altho both are toxic.

If you had an infestation, it will take time to get rid of all of them. They have to walk across what every is used to get rid of them.

You can exterminate by spraying your baseboards wtih sprays such as RAID. You will need to do this about every 25 to 30 days to keep them away.

Keep food put away, no trash in the house, no open soda cans, etc.

If it were me, I'd also spray all the bottom part of my house outside.

There are all kinds of controls you can do yourself, here are several links for you to check out:

Find another exterminator. The reality is that you don't know how many are still breeding and hidden.
Don't ignore this problem, start calling from the yellow pages who are reputed.

Try placing borax (laundry section) behind furniture, stove, fridge and in the very back of cabinets. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. This very fine powder sticks to their legs and is taken to their home. It seems to work.
