These aren't all the causes of terrorism, but some of the root causes: living day-to-day in an occupied land, poverty, feelings of futility and hopelessness for any means to make a positive change.

There's also disenfranchisement... what good is it to finally get to vote if the government you voted for is not really yours and is falling apart? Religion... it's not a cause, but it does provide a powerful force to rally under. Any religion, Christian, Jewish, Islam can be, and has been, taken to extremes and manifested as terrorism. Many Palestinians are Christian, Israelis are Jewish, the IRA is Christian, the KKK and Army of God use Christianity... just to name a few.

For better or worse, Saddam kept the various factions 'in line'. The US went in to get Saddam, but had no plan for how to fill the vacuum when he was gone. Civil war broke out and the country continues to be occupied by US forces. The Iraqi people, although oppressed under Saddam, are still oppressed and even more so now. They've lost many of the basics that they used to have... steady supply of water, electricity, medical facilities have deteriorated, etc. etc. Iraq is now a breeding ground for terrorism. Another example is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that has been going on for at least forty years.

Does this mean I'm 'soft' on terrorism? NO! I just believe that one must know their enemy in order to be effective. That's why I don't believe that conventional warfare works against terrorism and even makes the circumstances worse. Conventional warfare isn't working in Iraq or Afghanistan, it didn't work in Vietnam against rebel forces and it didn't go well for the British either when we won our independence. 'Hands-on' intelligence and infiltration if possible, covert operations, special forces with snipers... Get the intel, strike fast and hard to get the terrorists, spare the civilians and get out fast. I'm not sure that would work, but I think it's better than getting bogged down in conventional warfare, occupying a country and creating resentment that leads to more terrorism.

Watch Fox News that is a form of terrorism. Do not believe the lies this Corporate Government tells, they are not out for YOUR best interest. They are making money for their Banker Masters. Terrorism is having foriegn soldiers walking your street. Terrorism is having no power, water, or safety. Terrorism is what our leaders do to us through their lies and scare tactics. Terrorism is blowing up buildings. Terrorism is lying about it and using it to further your own ends. Terrorism is the nature of a powerful Human. How can we end it, ever heard John Lennons "Imagine"

n. The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

sadly, it would never end as long as their are people who willing to use fear and/or imtimidation to force their views on others. they will scarifice others try to gain their goals.

it is interesting to see the many posters here who declare Bush as the terrorist.. i guess they think that there are only 'freedom fighters' around the global killing hundreds daily. if that is the case then all terrorist will cease their activities Nov 5, 2008. that would be wonderful..guess we will have to wait and see if they are right.

Terrorism is when physical fear tactics (like bombings and shootings) take place in favor of a political cause (like the spread of radical islam). How can we end it, not sure if we can. We can fight it by fighting organizations like Al-Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah. Unfortunately, several countries actually raise money for terror organizations.

Another obvious answer to help end terrorism is to make the world a better place. This of course is not enough for the Islamic terrorists (because they want a one-world religion).

In my opinion - Terrorism is an attack on a nation or a nation's ideals by a individual or group not representing a nation. And there is no way to end it. There will always be those who oppose a nation. The only things that help are swift reactions to any successful attacks and good intelligence to learn about and neutralize threats.

Israel has been defined by skill of many international as a 'terrorist state'. between the justifications for that's that they are the sole united states interior the international who brazenly say they use torture on prisoners. Their checklist on human rights is appalling and that's authentic that, from that's totally inception, Israeli terrorists have been lionised by skill of the Zionist state. it quite is obviously hypocritical to call the Palestinians terrorists and declare that Israelis are purely protecting their united states. that's not their united states. The Zionist state of Israel must be smashed if Jew and Arab have any danger in besides of residing jointly in peace. One or 2 human beings on right here could desire to verify up slightly in historic previous.

Terrorism, by definition, is political violence: violence or the threat of violence, especially bombing, kidnapping, and assassination, carried out for political purposes

There is only one way to 'end' it. Surrender. Even that is temporary in my opinion but, it appears that we are about to give it a try anyway.

The only other approach is to be on guard and make it ineffectual.

It doesn't matter how nice you are there will always be somebody who hates you, is jealous of you or what you have, or is content to kill you based on instructions from someone else.

You can't reason with that person. You either have to kill him or do what most of the politicians are suggesting today......sit tight and wait for him to try and hope he's not very good at it or just pretend he doesn't exist.

Good luck.

Terrorism is violence, pure and simple i think. If you o something to hurt or perhaps cause "terror" in another persons life you are a terrorist. It's sad but there are a lot more "terrorists" in the USA than most other places. Check out a song called "Bomb the World" by Spearhead.
