it all really depends on where you live....the best advice that i can give you is for you to get ahold of their tech support dept and ask them if they can find out if you have towers around the area where you will be using your cell phone the most. just give them your address and they can pull up their maps and check for you (if you are anywhere between 0 and 6 miles away from a tower, you will get good reception....as far as their plans, go with any that have mycircle because you will more than likely never run out of daytime minutes (my circle gives you 10 numbers to choose, and any calls to and from those numbers are FREE)......as far as policy, alltel allows you to change your plan anytime you wish without extending your contract...well, why dont you try it out....you have 15 days to try it out, if you dont like it, you may cancel it without an early termination fee.

Had nothing but trouble with Alltel. Seemed like always having to set up voice mail over and over. If no one left a message for a couple of days for a couple of days Have go back and set it up all over again. Each time being billed for the time.
On the e-mail end managed to receive and send only one e-mail that was received.
As far as receiving or sending a text message you could forget that. Had a lot of friends and family mad at me about never answering their text messages. I never got them.
It didn't use it for a few days would have to call and set it back up again.
Went back to Cingular after a couple of months. I am not even going to get into their billings.
They might be ok in a city but in a rural area forget them and go with Cingular (well now back to being AT&T again).

I don't have all tel but a few friends of mine do, they never complain about it. So, I guess it depends on your own preference...
