I beleive he is trying to do some damage control, and stay out of prison. His career is going to take a hit and he probaby believes that taking a plea will get his punishment cut down.
I am so surprised at the number of people who seem to think that cruelty of any kind is ok. Our society is really gone to the dogs and just look at what people like Vick do to dogs.

I think he's a criminal and he should go to prison and be banned from the NFL for life. he was going to try to get away with it and he got busted. throw the book at him!

he may be a tight end going in to jail but he will be a wide reciever when he gets out
