PCI-E slot

According to your specifications sheet for the motherboard based on an HP Pavilion a1540n series, since this is the computer most commonly using this motherboard, your PCI-E slot is a 16x slot and will support that video card. The one thing I want to make you aware of is that the video card while currently listed as one of the Nvidia's top series cards, it is designed to run with Windows Vista and Directx10 optimally, if you are still running Windows XP and Directx9, you can use the card but you won't gain the optimal video effects from the card because it was designed to run with Directx10.

If you are still running Windows XP I would recommend considering this video card as an alternative: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3241598&CatId=1826 . The card shown is the top end of the series last designed for Windows XP and directx9, it has 512mgs of ddr3 graphics memory, uses heat dispersion technology (no fans) for cooling, and is made by XFX which gives you a lifetime warranty on parts and labor. I run a pair of these in SLI configuration in the machine I am on right now, and I love them. Why spend $200+ more to get a graphics card that takes up 2 expansion slots on the back of your machine, that is designed to use technologies not available with Directx9, unless you intend to switch your operating system to Vista as well.

Yes. I believe it would. AGP and PCIx slots look identical to me. But seeing as how that board has sata slots. I'm going with yes. It should list in the specs wether or not the board is PCIx though. I'd check there.

Yes, if you're worried about the heat sink getting in the way of the fan on your video card then I'm pretty sure (even though it's a birds eye view) your card mounts pretty clear of the board and it's extremities. theres a good 3/8 of an inch the card will clear the slot itself, not to mention the board. You should be good.

YES of course. It will just cover the space of one PCI slot. Only 2 PCI slots will be usable.

Yo, this depends on mainly one thing, AGP or PCI-e. Once the board is PCI-e this will fit. Unless your mother board has some kind of restrictions like voltage or bus speed.
