I've encountered a vehicle problem. My 98malibu recently started to have the wheel shake when I apply the brake. It only happens when i'm on the interstate or above speeds of 50mph. If anyone knows what this could be from please share.

Sounds like a brake rotor disk that's warped.

Your brakes work by clamping down with 2 brake pads on both sides of a spinning disk that's supposed to be perfectly flat. If it's warped a bit, the warped sections push back on the brake pads unevenly as the disk turns beneath them. This means that the disk and pads will wear unevenly, and wear out faster. Depending on how much the rotor disk is warped, a mechanic may be able to machine it back to flat and reuse it. Otherwise you'll have to replace it. It's cheaper to have it machined, if possible, but they can't tell until they remove it from the car. Your best bet is to take it in soon and have it checked.

The most probable cause is the rotor that helps your car brake may be warped. This means you will have to have the rotors replaced with new ones by a mechanic. High speeds cause this to be more noticeable. Been there, done that.

99.9% CHANCE THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPED IF YOU FEEL IT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. MOST VEHICLES USE "THROW AWAY" ROTORS (HUB LESS) AND RESURFACING "CUTTING" THEM IS USUALLY A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. THE REALITY IS THE FACTORY ROTOR IS NOT VERY THICK AND REMOVING MORE MATERIAL ON TOP OF WHAT HAS ALREADY WORN OFF WILL USUALLY RESULT IN FASTER WARPING THE NEXT TIME. (ROTORS CUT BEYOND FACTORY SPEC. CAN ALSO BE VERY DANGEROUS. IN THESE CASES THE REPLACEMENTS FROM THE AUTO PARTS STORE ARE LESS THAN $40 EACH AND A MUCH BETTER CHOICE. YOUR TYPE OF CAR FALLS INTO THIS CATEGORY AND I RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT. IF YOU NEED BRAKE PADS BUY THE BEST QUALITY YOU CAN AFFORD YOU'LL THANK YOURSELF LATER.

probley just the roater. Take you car to the shop and have them turn your roaters. It fairly cheap to have done, only about 30 bucks...do this now so they will not wear down and need to be completely replaced, that would cost you alot more

your brake rotors are warped, have them resurfaced and put new brake pads on.

you need to pull your brake rotars turned at a machine shop or take it to a brake specilist and tell them you need your rotars turned. it might also have something to do with your stearing but i would get your brakes checked first.
