I've encountered a vehicle problem. My 98malibu recently started to have the wheel shake when I apply the break. It only happens when i'm on the interstate or above speeds of 50mph. If anyone knows what this could be from please share.

Tires could be out of balance, of course could be rotors, or your tie rod end could be the problem.
Tires could also be untrue, rotate from bak to front on the same side and see if that helps.

The shake is from the front wheels, and the reason is you have warped Rotors. The rotors need to be replaced, also replace the pads at the same time. For Best results, have your mechanic use NAPA parts, they have a line of upscale rotors that really last.

It's most likely that you have hot spots on your rotors, or they are warped. You can take it to a shop and have them turned and that might work but if it's bad you'll need new rotors. They usually aren't real expense, but it's cheaper if you change them yourself. They're around 21-31 bucks ea. It's probably just the front two. Good luck.

Could be warped rotors, or some other worn suspension part. Have the front checked out by a mechanic. An alignment shop could help you out.

Go to your local garage tell them your problem they will take your rotar,s off put on a machine and cut the face of them down even, this is called turning the rotar,s .or drum,s which ever you have, this will cost you about a hundred dollar,s, to have all four turned you might as well put on new brake pad,s while you are in this far. P.S. HOPE THE YAHOO TEAM DOES NOT THINK THIS IS TO GRAPHIC. bob

Brake Rotors probably need to be 'turned' and possibly the pads and shoes replaced.
