theoretically, smaller and smaller particles until you get down to "super strings", which are just energy.

An electron is an elementary particle so it is not made up of anything smaller. No internal structure has ever been seen. (But a proton does have smaller structure.)
According to the new string theory, an electron, and all elementary particles, are really tiny strings that vibrate in certain ways. I do not know what strings are made of.

Ultimately, the question has no sense, since you do not have microscopes that can "see" things smaller than a quantum particle of light (or the equivalent wavelength). In current physics, an electron is usually conceived as a "cloud" of negative charge that can be found in the shell that corresponds to its energy level. Your microscope will see a cloud, and try as you might, you will never see anything but a cloud.

Also, as a lepton, it is not believed to be "made up" of anything else.

Current theory states that the electron is not made of any composite particles, i.e. it is an elementry particle. This does appear to be likely as due to the uncertainty principle any composite particle would have large uncertainty in momentum.

As far as we know, an electron is an elementary particle in the class of leptons, apparently having no internal parts and infinitely stable (t1/2 =infinity).

Of electron-stuff, I guess. Electrons are particles, you know, so what is light (photon) made of ? And what about atoms ?

P.S. It is thylawyer who gives the right answer, so why give him three minuses ?

String theory says all "elementary" particles are made up of vibrating strings of energy which continuously 'pop' in and out of existence.
