Me and my friends bought some fireworks a full two days before the 4th of July. Of course we wanted to light them off NOW and where is the only place you can enjoy the beauty of fireworks-in-darkness at noon? (Short of the Arctic Circle) Naturally, the movie theatre!

My brother got thrown out of a car once when I was 8 and he was 10. I cried because I thought he was dead since he seriously caught air for five minutes and landed at least 15 feet away from the car. When I realized he was okay, oh how I laughed at him!

When my family visited some friends in New Hampshire/Maine. I got to see the ocean for the first time. At their house my dad played guitar with them and my mom painted with his wife. We made dinner late every night, and it was always fresh from their garden or the ocean.

One hot July when I was twelve, me and my cousins decided we were gonna be bad and take super soakers and spray people with them out of the window. We saw some teenagers who thought they were cool out on the balcony just below the apartment and we sprayed them with it. We kept ducking under the windowsill, it was hilarious. The teens threw pebbles at the window and cursed at us.
We kept spraying and laughing. Later my cousin said he ended up being in the same elevator with one of the kids we shot at. Good thing he didn't recognize him. Good Times. LOL.

Family camping trips. We'd head out to the lake or drive up to the bluff. Great times with the family...

I was 4. My family and I were running around in the backyard spraying each other with the water hose and throwing water balloons. It was the last time we were all together and we got along!

There are so many, but the one that stands out is being at my grandmother's house, and hiding out in the wheat field, and smelling all those wonderful smells of the wheat and damp earth, and her cooking blowing in the wind. How I wish that I could have one day as peaceful as it was then, when you felt so safe and so loved. :)
