Ohhh yes, my grandfather on my mom's side and I spent A LOT of time together growing up. He and I were very close indeed and we had a lot of fun. I miss him now. He's been gone for 11 years.

Yes actually I did. I lived with my grandparents from the time I was 13 until I was almost 18. I also spent many summers with my other grandparents who lived away from us. Good luck. 2D

I was very close to my grandparents. Both of my Grandfathers died a while ago. Sadly I lost both of my Grandmothers this past year. My one Grandmother died the day before Thanksgiving, and my other Grandmother died Christmas Eve. (Talk about a terrible holiday season) My one Grandfather was just about the only person in my family that supported my choice to go into Radio as a profession.
Actually My Grandma told me this story the day after my Grandfather died. She said he would wake up every morning, make a cup of coffee, and go down to his workshop to listen to my entire morning show every single day. She said she would still be in bed, but she would hear him laughing his head off to some of the bits I did on my show. I really wish I would have known about this when he was still alive! My Grandmother said my Grandfather used to brag about having a grandson that was on the radio to just about everybody he would meet! She said he would go up to total strangers beaming with pride and say "That's my Grandson on that radio!"

I really wish I knew about that when I was doing the show, I would have had him come in with me once and a while to be part of the show. Its funny how often we never really take a step back and appreciate what we have until it's gone!

If you are lucky enough to still have your Grandparents, don't forget to tell them how special they really are to you..... You just never know when it may be too late.

Yes. My grandma always spent time with me. She was big on going to rummage sales. We'd jump into her red bug and hit the highway. She even had a CB radio... her handle was ladybug. She'd also take me out to her friend's dairy farm. That's when I learned how to milk a cow. She always took me fishing. She kept her tackle box and fishing poles in the trunk. She's just pull over at the creek, river or lake... it really didn't matter to her. Yep, she was an amazing lady.
