I'm looking for a name for Main Character in story and it has to be pronounced a lot so - which one?

Deioces (pron. Dee-eye-oh-sees)

Deioces (pron. Day-uh-sees)

Diyaco (pron. Dee-ya-co)

It's a guy by the name - derived from Old Kurdish

The third one. It is the only one I could pronounce perfectly without the pronuction key. It is mystical and fantasy too. but could be modern if it had to be.

I don't like the *spelling* of any of them because the pronunciation is not obvious. Actually *saying* the name is not *very* important because most readers do not read out loud, but you don't want them to pause every time they come across the name, wondering if they are pronouncing it correctly.

Perhaps you can spell them more phonetically?

Deyiyosees
Dayusees
Deeyaco

I'm not really happy with any of those, but it's a start. (Of course, you could always mention the pronunciation as part of the story).

i have to go with diyaco. it sounds more masculine than the others. the first name on your list is too involved and i don't think many would know how to pronounce it.
