I had an icechest spill in the back of my carpeted Explorer, I can't air it out right now, because I am in Seattle and its rainy and humid. I can already smell the mildw! I don't even know where all the water is, it seemed to have ran down drivers side and out as well.

How can I dry it out and prevent mold and mildew???

just leave the back door open int the back and let it air out on a sunny day, and try to soak up as much excess water as you can.

Use a shop vac to suck up as much water as you can. Look under the carpet as best you can and see if you can find any drain plugs and remove the rubber stoppers. Once you have all the water that you can get out removed, then use a hair dryer and start blowing the dryer on it. You can also use fans with the windows open. It may take overnight, but you should finally get the water out. When it is dry, sprinkly baking soda over the carpet and then vacuum it out. That should help with the smell. If you can still notice the smell, then a product like Oust or Fabreeze.

well use any rags old towels to soak up what u can than rent a steam cleaner and add only about two to three ounces of water and the vacum part will pick up the left over water go over the spot a few times or u can see if the carpet comes up easy and use a blow dryer on both sides . Good Luck
