Or was it his everyday life bleeding onto the Field? Secret Asain Man is right on both counts. Anyone involved in dogfighting do not have the dogs best interest in mind from the get go, once trained they cannot be untrained. These animals will never know what human kindness is and their fate is a sad reality for every one of them. Even if they found their way to a shelter, they would be euthanized as they are unsuitable for adoption. It is just cruel what happens to these poor innocent creatures.

I dunno but it was probably because he thought that being a "superstar" athlete he could do whatever he wanted. He should have put the dogs up for adoption or could have put some poor kids through college through establishing scholarships (eg. sports scholarships for football, baseball or basketball players). He could have done positive things in his community (eg. opened after school centers for kids, sports programs for kids, helped poor people build new homes, etc) instead of participating and establishing a horrible so called form of "entertainment" and betting on it. He had a total disregard for animal life and is a sign of someone with serious problems (many serial killers started out killing animals). He should do jail time and if he does, hopefully he will be a better person and never do anything like this again and get a better class of people to hang out with! His so called friends knew he was guilty and probably had a lot of evidence they turned over to the authorities. The whole thing is horrible! His career is probably over, but who knows? The NFL may give him a second chance. The only good thing from this terrible situation is that more attention has been placed on dogfighting and maybe people who engage in this despicable so called "sport" will do harsh time or any other activity that tortures and hurts innocent animals.

First of all, that's would more forethought than someone who enjoys dog fighting would have put into the situation. If these people were willing to kill these dogs in the first place, I doubt they would put the well being of the dogs into consideration after they could no longer fight.
Secondly, these dogs were bred from infancy to fight and kill. Most fighting dogs are angry all of the time and trust no one due to the amount of abuse that they were put through in their lives. They would not make good household pets and it would be dangerous to keep in an average home.

It would have been obvious that these were fighting dogs if they were put up for adoption. Not only would they have scars, cuts, etc., but their temperment is not exactly the kind you would want in the family pet. There is no way anyone would want the dog. It would be too violent and could not be trusted, especially around other dogs or children.

The dogs are being bread for fighting. So if they don't fight they will be killed. You would have a hard time making a pet out of them.

They were probably beyond saving without veterinary care. If you take a few battered and dying pit bulls to the vet, I think they MIGHT be tipped off to what's going on.

because some ppl in the south and east coast (only places i've heard talk of it) think dog fighting is good and its not. if you were raised in a set mentality since you were little you would think it was ok, but its not

Those dogs were bread to fight. They can't live a normal life with a owner.
