My mom used to say that on the first day of school, she was going to "dance all the way up to the bus stop!" I guess that meant she was glad that summer vacation was over!
As a social worker, I see more cases of child abuse and neglect in the summer, usually school-aged children. It seems that many of the parents who thought having a baby would be "cute" didn't realize that babies become children that they have to take care of, with personalities of their own.

My daughter's birthday is in 2 days! We still didn't get our letter from the school about when they go back. It's not usually until the 1st or 2nd week of September here in New Jersey. They get out in the middle of June.

They were not invovled in any major activities this summer and it keep them home more...I also think they eat me out of my house!!! during the summer months I am at the grocery store alot more!!!!!So yes I feel you when you say WOOHOOO!!!!LOL
I love them so much though just need a break...................

I know what you mean, but ... I guess I wish I didn't have to work. I'd much rather be at home with my youngest in the summer, like my mom did with me. As it is, he spends part of the year in school, and the summers in "summer camp" (day care). It makes me sad.
But if I DID stay at home, I guarantee I'd be going crazy if there were more than one of him!

I hope your children enjoy school and that you enjoy the 'time off'. I think it would help your family if you would sit down and try to get to the root of the sibling fighting problem. Going back to school isn't going to solve anything.

Well a fact: the day the adult hates the most is the last day of school.
