Shop lifting is against the law no matter what store it is in. I don't like wally world either but I wouldn't steal from them. Actually I don't go near their stores. The few times I have been in a Wal Mart it was messy, crowded with people I have no desire to be around and their merchandise seems cheap, not less expensive, cheap. I believe they buy what most other stores don't want.

Theft is theft. It costs all of us money.
A political statement is something you do to make a point. What would be the point you are trying to make?
The companies you talk about write off a certain percentage for shrinkage (loss and theft) so you would have to steal a LOT to make a dent in their bottom line.

Absolutely not, because who is going to know it's a political statement? If you announce you stole such and such items, you set yourself up for prosecution, because it was wrong to steal. Stealing is never acceptable. Losers who steal only cost the rest of us tons of money to make up the losses. No political statement could ever come close to making up for that one.

Shoplifting from ANYWHERE is a crime. How is breaking the law going to make a statement?

Only if your political statement involves announcing to the world you are a proud thief.

Stealing is never acceptable under any circumstances. How about a nationwide boycott of all WalMart stores based on their aiding and abetting Communist China by stocking their shelves full of "slave labor" products.

Well i guess if you are of the mind to steal, you could also twist it into some kind of "political statement".

Not at all, its against the law and should be punished. Stealing makes the prices go up for everyone.

Anything is acceptable as a political statement, but you may have to pay the penalties if caught.

Certainly, according to our present definition, the Boston Tea PArty was terrorism, yet I am sure you find it to be an acceptable historical moment.

It could be considered a political statement but it is also against the law.

Depends on what kind of statement you're trying to make.
