I'm so sorry. I lost my Dad in 1995. I understand on the one hand I was like "Man, It's been 6mos. already" on the other I was like "But It's only been 6 mos!" It took a long time but it finally got a little easier.

I lost my mother a year and a half ago. It doesn't get any easier. I have just stopped dwelling on it all the time now. Not that I don't think about her often. As a matter of fact, I went out and bought one her favorite movies for my kids last weekend. We got "The Incredible Mr. Limpet". It was one of her all time favorites, and my kids have watched it no fewer than 6 times already.
The worst for me was two days after the funeral my mother-in-law was over at our house, and we had the TV on to Deal or No Deal. A Marine in his dress blues was the contestant. I had to leave the room. Mom was a Marine and was buried with a full Marine Honor Guard. And guess what? All this talk about her funeral has got me crying again. It doesn't get any easier.
I got a violation notice this weekend for telling some idjit what he could do with his hatred of the Corps.

Im sorry about your dad.
My mom died when I was 4. Im 19 married and have 17 month old son. I know how hard it is to deal with it everyday. I had to get married have a kid have my 16th b-day, all the things that are important to girls or just anyone, I had to live with out her being there. My husbands mom was killed by an idiot when he was 15. He had to do all the same things with out her and his dad was never around. It has been very hard and I dont think it will get easier.

I lost my mother & father , my uncle & youngest sibling(brother), all in 4 years a while back. I will tell you that it does get better in time. It's only been 7 months for you & something sudden like an accident is even harder to deal with. Trust me, it will get better. I know, because I thought like you are for a while. I will pray for you & this situation. God knows what you need for strength. My faith really helped me, knowing that my mom & Dad are waiting in heaven to see me. God bless you as you go through this. Take care.

I lost my mother from a sudden illness 7 years ago - she was only 44. Time does help you heal enough to the point that you can remember them and the happy times.
