I have lots of jewelry, I purchased over the years, (good stuff) I also made a lot myself, (semi-precious stones)
I was going to open up a store with some antiques, fine florals, and other creations of mine, however someone discouraged me from doing it (because of the economy) and now I've been stuck with all these things for more than two years, I urgently need to sell them, not just get rid of them, they are expensive, (have used ebay and hasn't worked, I really hate ebay)

Other than yard sales does anyone have any good ideas on how I can sell them, some framed art most of it ranges btwn $500 to over $ 1000 dls., I can't sell it at fleemarkets. Please help, I've been to some stores looking into consignments, but people don't take them.

HI. Not sure where you are located ... here in NY I have a friend that makes jewelry and she peddles it to local boutiques herself. The boutiques take 30% and she goes in and picks up checks/ drops off new jewelry every month.

For art, not sure if you mean art you drew or antique art, but you could try a local diner or restaurant. Here many are like galleries and feature a new local artist every month or two. They take a percentage of every piece they sell. They might be interested in selling antique art too. They need to cover the walls and no one minds making extra money...Find a good match and ask, i.e. if you have 50s art find a 50s restaurant to ask to sell them.

there are also antique malls and regular malls where you can rent a small booth. Very little overhead this way. Booths here range from 250-2000 a month depending on size and location. For your own creations a mall booth might be a good idea. At some antique malls here you do not have to stand there all day, as long as everything is priced someone else will make the sale for you.

You will need to have a tax id, start a small business to get a booth or to sell to some boutiques. contact SCORE a free government service that helps start businesses, they will tell you everything you need to start the kind of business you want.

Otherwise, call a local auction house and ask them to sell your items/liquidate your estate.

Good Luck!

I have an online webstore (consignment)....I would love for you to become a seller........It only costs $20 for the year to be a seller on my site. Tomorrow my site goes live to over 70,000 people. I have already had 2300 visitors in two days. I have a wide variety of products. Unlike ebay, my site has no bidding, no seller fees, no listing fees, no picture fees...You can sell as much as you'd like for the year. www.madasgaragesale.com

Open a shop or find a jewelry shop that is willing to sell your stuff. Try craft fairs and street fairs. Try a consignment shop. Drive to the nearest large city and try the jewelry shops there.
