ok i got a 86 chevy 4x4 truck with power windows and locks, the windows have been working, in fact i just rolled it down and was about to roll it back up and there was nothing, i used the switch on the driver's side to test both windows, but neither one will go up or down and i also used the other switch on the other door and still nothing, what is the deal, i looked at the fuses to see if there was one for windows but i didn't see any, can someone help me out, also both are new motors

The power windows don't have fuses. They have relays. Look in the fuse box for the large black square relays. If you have an owners manual it will tell you which ones are for the windows. If not just go buy one and swap them one at a time.

3 thihngs to check.
Fuses are most likely. Do u have a handbook? That will tell which fuse and where it is located.
2) relays
3) the switch itself. Is there something simple like a wire off?
Stupid question. My Land Rover Discovery has an isolator switch for the rear windows so kids can't open them. Do u have anything like that on ur Chevy? Hope this helps.

There is a fuse, you have to look harder. I doubt both driver and passenger switches went out at the same time, but they could still be electrically connected. My money is on the fuse.

Power windows have what they call control switches. Which is the switch we use to let the window up and down with. You might want to check them to see if any are pitted or bad.

most likely a electric problem since the motors are new it probaly not the motors.
