The crimes that a US President may well be charged with are quite slender: "The President, vp and all civil officers of the U. S., would be removed from workplace on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or different severe Crimes and Misdemeanors." If telling political lies become a criminal offense, what baby-kisser does no longer be in reformatory ? And, theres one element with having a majority interior the homestead and the Senate, and its some thing else to have a veto info majority, which the Democrats have not got in the two homestead. Plus, an impeachment of Bush might seem, to a super style human beings electorate, as a sort of "payback" for the attempt to question Clinton. that ought to backfire, politically, in a super way.

It forces Repub candidates to distance themselves even further from Bush. Also, although BUsh isn't running in 08, the legacy of his failed policies will be a major factor in 08.

Yes, it's a good campaign strategy. Bush's aproval is so low that attacking him makes you look good a majority of Americans...
Even Republican hopefuls are often critical of him, to 'distance' themselves from him, for the same reason.

You've got to be kidding. I don't think that there is a Republican on YA that hasn't badmouthed Bill Clinton and that was almost 8 years ago! They're using him as a campaign stategy against the Democrats.

Well, considering that 70% of the people in the U.S are against his foreign and domestic policies, it's pretty smart to clarify why you might be against his policies and what you would do differently to set yourself apart from him. Yes, this is a good campaign strategy.

His policies have been horrible fiscally as well as limiting our freedoms. This is a current event and deserving of more than verbal attack.
What I can't figure out is why republicans are still attacking Clinton for getting a BJ or Kennedy for getting his girlfriend killed 40 years ago.

Hmmm, maybe because this person is the current president who has bungled us into a war and probable bankruptcy...
It is his failed policies that will need to be addressed.
Further, do you think that maybe, just maybe, he'll be wasting taxdollars using Air Force 1 and Secret Service/Police protection to stump for RNC candidates next year?
LAstly, I keep hearing conservatives bring up Bill Clinton, repeatedly.

I believe that all parties attack the incumbent as means to promote their own nominees. Political mudslinging is a fine art, and those running for president hire the brightest and best to fling it!
