Umm - no. That is highly innappropriate. It is also illegal if it happens without your consent.

I don't think so. Wait...
Definently not. That's corpal punishment which is illegal. The law might be different for tutors, but standing on a chair and spanking you!?!? let me have a talk with that guy. If you have some legal knowledge, you can file charges on him. Tell the judge about how he made you stand on a chair and spank you, your an adult now. So he shouldn't be able to do this to you if he's not even 18.

If your in Georgia, your deffinently going to win this case.

OMG NO!!! Dont let him punish you like that, we have evolved alot during the past 20 years and hitting someone like that is wrong, You do not learn better by being hit like that just because you get an answer wrong, and seriously your old enough to know the consequences to your studies and being hit is not only wrong but hardly any children now a days are being hit, i was a child that was hit because of my poor grades and being hit made me only want more to fail and do less. And at least your asking for others opinion and i believe that was a great choice, and if u can ask others that means you know what is going on is wrong and you must not stand it when someone hits you, dont let it keep going first of all he is no one to lay a hand on you without your permission. Dont let this keep going on you deserve better, and not to be treated so unjustly, sounds like ur a beautiful person and all u need know is the courage to stop this because this is all for the good for you. GOOD LUCK, AND BE STRONG!

add me on msn or yahoo if u wanna talk about it more

First off, what are your parents thinking!!???
Secondly, You are 18, not a child (personally a child shouldn't be treated like this either). We don't all learn the same way or on the same level. You need to stand up for yourself. Just because school is hard for you gives no one the right to treat you in this manner. It is not only humiliating it also has a negative impact on ones self worth. If you can not talk to your parents about this, go to a school counselor. Don't let someone take away your self respect, It's a gift we give ourselves.

HELL NO Im not sure whats wrong with your parents but if your not understanding certain things you shouldnt be punished for it if your giving all your effort. Also noone should be able to physically punish you besides your parents! I'll pray for you and I hope this situation gets better for you and if it doesn't then I would tell your counsler at school maybe she or he could help you.

In some cultures, that's acceptable, but from the western culture most people here are from...

To be completely unbiased, I don't think you should have to be hurt. You need to talk to your parents and talk to them about how hurtful and shameful it is to be abused by someone only slightly older than you. As far as academics are concerned, that kind of fear will lead to failure, not success. More importantly, it's damaging and inhuman.

If your parents won't see reason, and if you know that he won't see reason, you seriously need to get help. Someone needs to step in if there's nothing you can do to defend yourself.

I'll keep you in my prayers.

ABSOLUTLY NOT. you are an adult. still under ypur parents restrictions but an adult in the same. violence teaches nothing but how to do violence. if you ave a lreaning disability and your parents have not taken you be be diagnosed they are preforming child endangerment. demand to be tested.........! if they say no . call the cops calmly. then demand again infront of the cop. when they say no. ask the cop for the item/report number. turn this in the the child welfare department. dont take that. id tear the hose apart and give them a reason to mistreat me . but u take the high road and expose them for the uneducated parents the are.1!

No, and he is not allowed to hit you. That is an assault and is a crime. You are an adult. Do not stand for this.Tell him and your parents that if he hits you one more time you will make a police report.. He is a tutor, that is all. He cannot punish you, Period!!!!

Wha?!

Is corporal punishment acceptable in your area? Where I am, this is not acceptable, at all!

Why is it embarrassing to be punished by "a young guy." Would an older guy be acceptable?!

Did you tell your parents that the punishment is embarrassing and scary to you?
Can you tell your tutor not to hit you?

I can't even begin to say how wrong that is, whether you're 18 (technically an adult) or a child, you shouldn't be physically abused. You need to do something about this. Feel free to contact me if you need someone to talk to! :(
