I'm trying to install a HP CLJ 4700 PCL 6 on another computer. There's no network for the printer to be on, and it's already installed on another computer through a USB cord. All that's the left is the Ethernet cord, is there anyway to make this work as a local printer? Or any solutions at all? I just need it to print.

Withthe network port is can still be a local printer, but on a TCP/IP port

ADD PRINTER, install drivers from CD and set up as on LPT1 (for now)
Once installed go into properties, select PORT, and TCP/IP, make new port with IP address of printer (read it's manual for details on setting this, MUST be in same range as rest of the network)
Name it and away you go.

Use the help functions, or read up on HP.com for more info as they have good help pages
