How often do you just sweep em up instead of picking them up and saving them?

Pennies are still money, so sweeping them up and throwing them out is technically illegal.
What most people don't realize is if they saved all the pennies that they have they would have quite a few dollars.
I had a can full of pennies that I took out of my wallet, and found around my room. When I last dropped it off at a coinstar machine I had about 10 dollars.

Pennies are great. If you save enough of them you can buy something nice for yourself. I pick up every penny I see & through them in a jar. Last year I had enough to take a cruise this year!!

If it weren't for the coin counting machines I'd probably ignore them completely, but until the government declares them usless I'll continue to pick 'em up and toss 'em in the change jars at home.

I actually keep pennies around. I have a piggy bank in my bedroom that I put all of my loose change in (with the exception of quarters) and when I have a bunch of pennies in there I feel rich, even though it probably only adds up to about 43 cents.

I think the government would save money if they quit
minting pennies. They are a darned nuisance. I'm for not using them anymore and changing our
coin system that there be no cents (1,2,3,4) in anything.
In other words, a nickel would be the lowest coin you
would ever carry.,

I'd probably run out in front of a truck just to pick one up off the street! So no, I definitely don't just sweep them up! They aren't much alone, but as a group, they have power!

Useless for everyday shopping, I don't carry cash that often. But when I do get change I put them in the coin counter and roll them. Next thing I know I have $10 bucks! And it goes in the bank.

My dad always gives me all of his change...quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. And, then I'll have all this change on my desk, and my mom comes in and takes only the pennies!
I think this is funny! Why doesn't my dad just give the pennies to my mom to begin with...?

my mother has always told me if i throw pennies in the garbage God would make me broke..so when i see them while im sweeping or vacuuming, i just pick them up..i have a ton of them..can't wait to cash them in and see how much i have..
