I think that they must be eligible for some form of benefit, like child benefit and they gain a monthly allowance for that cause from the government.
For FOREIGNERS who are breaking the law by staying in our country, without the required papers and expired VISA in their case, IT REALLY HURTS OUR POCKETS!!!
The British Tax Payer has to subsidise them, but I promise I will tackle the issue when hopefully my time comes.
I ALSO HATE INFLATION AND IT IS SOMETHING I STRONGLY FEEL BRITAIN MUST SERIOUSLY THINK OF IN THE FOLLOWING YEARS TO AVOID ANOTHER SERIOUS CRISIS.

Well, if this benefit was used correctly it would be for the mother's who were looking for a job or going to school. Unfortunately, it is not always used correctly. The really sad thing is that there are parents out there who are working very hard and barely making ends meet because quality childcare costs so much and they don't qualify for any help.

They're supposed to be job hunting while the kids are in day care. Yeah, I know, but that's the logic.

I don't know. Good question. Hmmmmm.......
It makes me ask, "Why do rich, profitable corporations that make billions of dollars in profit each year have to ask the federal government for hand-outs like tax incentives, tax abatements, bail-outs, and financial assistance?
And then, corporations (like Halliburton, for example, that has reaped billions in profits from this insane Iraqi war) move their corporate headquarters offshore to avoid paying federal income taxes?
And then, corporations (like McDonald's and Pepsi) expect the United States government to underwrite their marketing objectives when introducing their products into foreign countries??
And then, corporations (like ConAgra and Archer Daniels) apply for government subsidies and get paid NOT to grow crops on their corporate-owned lands???
The cost of social welfare programs is a drop in the bucket compared to the billions our government doles out to rich, profitable mega-corporations. Corporate welfare is by far the most rampant fiscal scandal that continues in this nation, all because corporate America contributes heavily to political campaigns. -RKO- 08/20/07

So they can search for jobs without having to take the kid with them.
Like my cousin, who married this guy named Dummy.
I think when she married him, because he had money, they took her off wellfare.
but then he left her, cuz he was only using her to get into Canada.
