mine has been gone 12months,a nd 1 more togo, and let me tell u, all he wants is U!!! you could make him his fav. dinner, clean the house till it squeaks, but as long as you are alive and breathing, thats all he wants!
We as women tend to think they need more, or want things perfect when he comes home, but men are simple, a beer(if he drinks), a pair of VERY comfy clothes, and laying beside you is all he wants!!!
I know i am going thru the same thing,but mine don't care if the house is littered with toys, we have a child, as long as we are in his arms, thats all that matters to him.
IF you want, go and get pampered before he comes home, do your nails, and toes, for some reason, you always feel better when you 'update' yourself. They guys want to know we have been taken care of ourselves, and they will be happy to see our faces!!!

I will tell you from my personal experience that when your husband first gets home, what most soldiers want is normalcy. After being deployed for an extended period I always wanted to just come home and see my home, enjoy a real bathroom, take a nice shower/bath, sit in my own house and just enjoy being with my wife. The most romantic thing you can do is save all the little issues, like bills, and the broken handle on the back door for a day or two and let him settle in, sit with him and just act like you did before you got married.
The two of you will probably want to make love, and if you have something he especially likes you in wear that when the time come. Don't go get anything sexy and new. Most soldiers who have been away only want to return to the familiar when they get home. Don't be different than you usually are, you are who he has missed. He really only wants the girl he fell in love with. And if you have kids, make sure they are home so he can see them, he's missed them also. Many women I have seen in my life, have the kids stay with someone the first day, but he has missed the kids also. Just have them on their best behavior, and put them to bed at a reasonable time so you can have time together.

You don't have to do a thing ,he will be happy just to see you and be back,don't sweat it, just make a nice home cooked meal let him relax and then ....well you know the rest.
mudmommy I like the way you think,but don't bother him with that while he's watching a bunch of men playing football.

Honestly, men don't really go for the romantic stuff. What he probably would enjoy is YOU. Just get all over him like an octopus and he'll LOVE it.

frankly you can make it as romantic as you want,, but that is a woman,,, he is just going to want to make love to you,, save the sexy stuff for the week after, you are going to too busy the first week :-)
