I currently have Time Warner Cable and it is AWFUL. I've had to call monthy to have them come out, my service will be finre for a few weeks, then it goes out, they come out, fix it, and then 3-4 weeks later, same thing. Last time someone came, he said the signal was very weak, he couldn't believe the previous technicians didn't see that. It worked for almost two months after that, and now here we are again, with no service (I'm jumping on a neighbors wireless signal to write this) Also, each time I call and give them my phone number, they pull up my old address where I lived two years ago. Each time I correct them, they tell me it's been changed, and then everytime I call back, they say I'm at the old address.
I HATE TIME WARNER CABLE and am ready to send smoke signals rather than deal with there people anymore!! What are my alternatives, besides DSL?

Your only other alternative is satellite. The problem with satellite is that it is really pricey. Otherwise, you're stuck with DSL or Cable.

FIOS is DSL, it is just ran on a completely fiber optic cable network. anyway, there are not too many other options. I would go DSL it may be a bit slower, but normally it's reliability is far greater than cable, and it is a dedicated line as well not a shared connection like most cable companies. If verizon is in your area I would definitely call and check on FIOS.

I recommend Verizon FiOS -- 30 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload all for $35.00/month -- kicks DSL and cables butt!
