Someone mentioned people from Asia.... In the fourth century, Hsu-Shen (Hoshan), a Chinese missionary under the Shang Dynasty, came to America searching for his people (the East Yi- Black Chinese). Upon their arrival, the Chinese encountered the Olmecs (who had already been living in America); and they considered them to be the descendants of the Black Chinese.
The earliest people known to have lived in the Americas were Black Africans who possibly made the journey as early as 100,000 years ago. Studies show, without a doubt, that the ancient Olmecs of Mexico (the Xi People) originally came from the Mende regions of West Africa.

No the olmecs weren't. No body were making huge trans ocean journeys in those days. It you look at a globe you will see that the bering strait is the narrowest point to the american land mass. It was repeatedly crossed by north asian peoples and was being so right up until the modern era. inuit live on both sides.
Very little is known of west africa in the period of time since they didn't leave any monument architecture and writings until many centuries later. But all of the little which is known about the Olmecs meshes nice with their mexican contemporaries. Their writing, religion, sports, agriculture, animal. Nothing shows any signs of foreign influence.

That's a big question. Some people think it was just a style of sculpture that the Olmecs did, but others believe that the Olmecs themselves were of African origin OR were visited by and venerated Africans.
I personally think there was a lot more intercontinental contact than we currently know about. :)

Trade networks stretching across the Atlantic, causing interbreeding. Pyramids from the early Olmecs have a stricking similarity to pyramids from Egypt. Enourmous heads carved out who have african american facial features. I strongly believe that through the ocean our diversity rose.

Highly unlikely, really, since the settlement of the Americas was accomplished by people from Asia and possibly, Polynesia.
