If you've never noticed, not every item in the store is $1.00. Many are higher. They buy in bulk, and they buy generic brands. This makes their costs lower. The stores are usually not large so their overhead (rent, payroll, etc.) is not too large.

1. the buy the stuff in bulk for cheap anyways.. so they can sell it cheap..
and if you havent noticed, most of the stuff they have is generic and alot of their cometic or hair products are not as effective, and items like toilet paper is flimsy and cheap as well.
