Okay, I think 'Willow' would be a good name for a female dog if it was a greyhound, an Afghan hound, or a Borzoi (all are 'willowy' in form) ...but I don't think I'd want a male bull mastiff or great Dane named Willow ... so why don't you let your new 'dog' pick you, and then give it a few days ... the 'right name' for it will 'come to you' ... if you are at all 'sensitive' to what the dog likes, wants, and needs. It will have the 'most important' thing it needs in YOU ... and it will 'tell you it's name' if you just 'listen' with your heart.

I like the name Willow for a cat but not so much for a dog. I like naming girl dogs boy names.

I like it.

I had the opportunity to name a new puppy the other day. She's a light brown Chihuahua. I wanted to name her something sorta strange. I settled with Karmel. I know it's not that strange but how I came up with it was. See, my family consists of 6 people. The first letter of Karmel's name is the first letter of someone in my family's name. The second letter is the second letter of someone else's name and so on. I was shocked it actually worked!!

Well sorry for the story. Hopefully your dog-naming experience doesn't involve as much brain-power as mine did.

Good Luck and Congrats on a new member of the family!!

Yes,
Willow is a really cute name for a puppy or a dog!! You could also name ur dog because of it's personality such as if it's really fluffy you could name it fluffy! Hope that helps!

I have named my pet cats Bandit, Tigger, and Cinnabon, based on their coloring and personalities. If you like the name Willow for your dog, then go for it.

Yeah I think that's a really nice name : ) And it's not the sort of name you'll be embarrassed to shout when you're taking him down the field either xx Sort of like a Bassett Hound's name or something, like a really loving sort of dog!

Hmm.. i think Willow is ok. I'd usually have to see the dog to pick it a good name :)

Good luck naming him[her]!(:
