Should ALL schools be made to conform to school uniforms and ALL Children be made to wear uniform whilst at school instead of putting pressure on their parents to get a new set of designer gear to show off?

there are many valid points on both sides of the uniform argument (i should know, i wrote a 2500 debate on it!)
in the end, it's more cost effective to have a uniform and it's much better for security reasons to tell if students are meant to be on the campus or not.

But even at school the children have to have the designer bags,coat and shoes at my kids school they all wear a school uniform and so they should I think but it doesn't stop parents from having to buy the latest clothing accessories, and then its there hair that has to be done in the latest style and in my daughters case she has to have it coloured the same as her friends so just because they wear a uniform doesn't stop the pressure.

I don't make my parents get me new designer clothes... just t-shirts and jeans for me. And I think that school uniforms are a bad idea. Of course one reason I'm saying that is because I'd be the one that has to wear it. But clothes let kids express themselves however they like.
Sometimes schools like them to eliminate seperation based on clothing by getting uniforms, and I think that can be a good thing as well as a bad thing. Some kids get teased because they can't afford classy clothes, but at the same time we should be allowed to dress ourselves as we wish.

I live in Bermuda, where all schools, public or private wear uniforms. I have children still in school. Uniforms are great, no hassle, no I'm better than you cus I can afford designer clothes attitude!

no because each child should be able to express themselves through their clothing.....it is the parents responsibility to put a limit on the clothing and not get everything the kids ask for.

If I wanted to wear a uniform, I'd go to private school.

we've got to wear uniform in my school and i bloody hate it. thats why i'm dying my hair green to p them. f-ck school and the rest of its dumb rules, i'd rather turn up in old clothes than wear uniform

I say no: I have been against uniforms for decades, they take away our individuality.
