Hi. DJs use vinyl because Records are far superior to CD's in reproducing the sound of musical instruments and the human voice. CD sound is very clinical and although the dynamic range is wider and the surface noise is much lower than a vinyl record, it does not have the same musicality and warmth of a Record. Some CDs have approached the quality of vinyl but they are few and far between.I have an excellent Turntable ,Tonearm and Cartridge and the sound i get blows CD out the window. I have a lot of CDs but i rarely play them .I have replaced a lot of them with Records. So ,when it comes to audio ,digital is not automatically better than analogue.CD has had the last 25 years to improve on the sound but nothing has happened.

yeah - to add to the last guy - digital goes from 20 hz(?) to 22 khz - anything outside of that is lost. analogue doesn't have any limits!!! it only makes a difference on hi-quality hi-fi but analogue will always sound better at the extremes.

djs use vinyl because cd scratchers and cuers are crap and you get a feel for djing in vinyl that is hard to find something sim' in the digit' domain. and records are prettier!!

Not only that but apparently the sound quality is actually better than a CD - it produces a greater range of tones... apparently
