Sadly, yes. I lost contacts that I haven't gotten back. I've been blocked by people with whom I have no recollection of any contact.
I have been targeted for my perceived association with this group or that, when all I wanted to do was get along with everyone.

No, it's not taking ANYthing from "my" contacts; they are all decent, kind folks, capable of doing their own thinking (and all with differing points of view, 'cause they are all real people). I have been very fortunate. I am extremely put-out that a few morons have invaded P&S with their poison.I think they should ALL be shot-at-dawn.
As to McCarthyism, it's alive and well, here, and in many, MANY! other places as well. Unfortunately.

A few years back I lectured the Rocker and his brother about guilt by association. Don't think that they did not have a good laugh when I cleaned out my network here....with lots of comment on how adults behave.
