6 - 3(2x+4) - 4x = 5(1-2x)
First distribute the -3 on the left side and the 5 on the right side
6 - 6x - 12 - 4x = 5 - 10x
Combine like terms
-10x - 6 = 5 - 10x
Add 10x to each side
-6 = 5
The above equation is false, so there is no solution.

Solving
6-3(2x+4)-4x=5(1-2x)
6 - 6x - 12 - 4x = 5 - 10x
-6 - 10x = 5 - 10x
-6 = 5 !!!! after - 10 x cancel out
!!! NO solution. Equation is WRONG !!!!

6-3(2x+4)-4x=5(1-2x)

[step one] first you distribute the -3.
6 [-3(2x+4)] -4x=5(1-2x)
6-6x-12-4x=5(1-2x)

[step two] then you distribute the 5.
6-6x-12-4x= [5(1-2x)]
6-6x-12-4x=5-10x

[step three] now you add -6x and -4x
6 [-6x-4x] -12=5-10x
6-10x-12=5-10x

[step four] subtract 12 from 6
[6-12] -10x=5-10x
-6-10x=5-10x

[step five] add 10x to both sides
[10x] -6-10x=5-10x [10x]
-6=5

[answer]
since the phase [-6=5] is false, the answer is no solution.

simplify: 6 - 6x -12 -4x = 5 - 10x The -10x common to both sides leads to a contradiction: -6 = 5, so there is no solution.

6-6x-12-4x=5-10x
-6-10x=5-10x
-6=5
Since this is impossible there are no values of x that make this true.

6-6x-12-4x=5-10x
-6x-4x+10x=5+12-6
0=13
There is no x value: this is a bogus equation
