I always have a little bad breath so I got this bottle of green Listerine today. After I brushed my teeth just now, I rinsed my mouth following the direction shown on the bottle, i.e. 20ml for 30 seconds... the liquid gave a super burning sensation and my tongue HURT LIKE HELL... I ate a candy and I tasted less flavor... Then I searched for similar situations on Y!A... a Best Answer says "the burn you feel can actually be damaging/burning the sensitive tissue in your mouth" (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006041611157 )... is this true? If so, what do I do?

Please help, thanks!

Damaged cells in the mouth are replaced more quickly than cells in any other part of your body. You'll be fine in two or three days, and you don't need to do anything; it will heal on its own.

the tongue like any other organ of the body has the capability to regenerate new cells and will heal
try adding some water to your mouthwash to dilute a little before rinsing
there is a listerine mild on the market that may be better for you to try
