I like the name Cole, however if your son will be a JR or a III or so on, there will be a great amount of confusion between father and son. My boyfriend is the IV and his dad is the III, their credit reports are so messed up, and everyone confuses my boyfriend for his father, companies say they go by social security number... but they really just go by the name. However if you do pick the name Cole, perhaps go with a different middle name. My dad's just Joseph, he doesn't have a middle name, where as my brother is Joseph Anthony. My mom always has to let doctors and such know that he is Joseph A and that her husband doesn't have a middle name therefore he's just Joseph.
Good luck with the new baby!

ma'am don't even mess with those names. Name the boy Edward...it's classic Saxon. It exerts power and commands respect. People will respect Edward in his late twenties 'till the end, and 25 under you can call him "Eddie" who the hell doesn't like an "Eddie"..."O there goes Eddie that loveable scamp." "Eddie, that dude is the man." ...don't even think about it...just do it.
