Have any of you heard about Vladimir Putin's annuncements as of late that:
1) Russia has pulled out of the CFE treaty
2) That Russia has reached a "heightened level of trust with China"
3) That Russia and China have been engaging in war game exercises together since July 18
4) The building of new platforms for their new "masive nuclear submarines" which are to carry bulova missiles which can carry a nuclear war head 8000 km to it's target.
Are you guy's hearing about any of this stuff?

That is a good point bookworm... we can't expect the media to cover what could be very important world events when George W. has Polyps!

It's amazing what gets left out of the news. But we must make room for stories about Lindsey Lohan's rehab, don't we?

I try to catch up on all the world's news, but that is increasingly impossible in America's corrupted media empire. Anything that does not promote greed, consumption, hate, and violence just does not make the news anymore, unless its a 3-legged dog, or a kitten stuck up a tree, etc. They only push stories that SELL, SELL, SELL!
I did hear of 2 & 3, but not much.

Of course not. That is why we have people like Michael Moore who have to produce films about issues (harsh reality) because the government controls the media and Americans get what the government wants to give.

Seriously, you can get all of that news in the U.S. fairly easily, but you have to deliberately consume serious news sources instead of the standard cable TV lineup.

Even here in the Netherlands we don't hear that kind of stuff.
Our minister-president does everything Uncle Bush says, so maybe America doesn't want his people to know?

I havent heard any of this stuff, I know our government hides things from us I guess they dont want to alarm us in any way. I would still like to know though
