Trolls, by the Y!A definition, are those users like $MITTY, SKINHEAD CHARLIE and others with undesirables for avatars.

They're basically crude and rude in their answers or their questions might be sexual in content. They provide links to horrendous pictures (trust me on this.. I've seen one, I've seen them all).

Aside from the racist questions, the sexually-explicit questions would sound something like this:

Do I need to shave?

And a link to a picture of a person's hooha is provided.

Those who reports other users can also be considered as a troll and I know at least one back-stabbing person here.

I hope this answered your question!

I've gathered from posts about them in Polls & Surveys that they are those that comb the boards scrutinizing those whose Q's and A's they don't like, and harass them or look for reasons to report. They are apparently uptight and humorless and target users that are more playfully outside the box.
It comes from the definition of troll that refers to trolling waters with nets to catch fish.

In the Religion category I've learned that another definition of troll became applied users who are argumentative and are there simply to try to offend.

Trolls in real life, however, are actually large grotesque gremlins that live under bridges and cause trouble for anyone that disturbs their habitats. Once upon a time, only fairy tale writers knew about them and had to use the appearance of fictitious tales to expose them.
