I star if I want to keep it for future reference. Sometimes cuz the info is good, sometimes cuz I want to answer it when I have more time, sometimes cuz I want to see replies, sometimes cuz I wanna see the outcome.

When I star a question, I think it's interesting and a question that doesn't usually get asked. It's something i've never seen before, and the style is someting that I would like to see in the future.

Usually it is for good questions, no matter how ridiculous the might be.
Some times just for friends or contact and sometimes I have even given pity stars.

When - like your's - it gives me something to THINK about! Pointless even answering the "easy/silly" ones . . .
Or, if like Kimberly, the asker is polite and kind (she always starts of by saying hi, and ends off by wishing us all a happy day/night/weekend) - I appreciate THAT a lot!
The funny ones (clever funny, not slapstick ha-ha!) also deserve stars.

If I have the same problem I star it and when I get the answer I unstar it.
And also I star if its intreesting and I like to see what ppl say
