Nope. Just think of questions you'd like to ask.

Whatever you want to eat is fine, but just be sure you've got some fluid in your bladder. It gives the tech a better image. However don't drink TOO much. I drank a whole 20-oz bottled water and the ultrasound tech made me go and "partially urinate" to empty my bladder a little. That hurt really bad!
Instead, just drink something, and then take the drink with you and you can always sip a little more if they need a better image.

since u're only in ur 2nd trimester. U should drink a lot of water. And u can eat anything u want..it wouldn't matter. Try something sweet if u wanna see the baby moving around while u have the ultrasound. ANd possibly get the baby to move around so u can find out what the sex of the baby is if his/her legs are crossed. goodluck

Everyone is different, though, my U/S tech told me to EMPTY my bladder as SOON as I got there... she told me that this would give her a clearer shot of the baby...

(you can see her on my preggo page! The regular ultrasound photos were at 13 weeks) but you get an idea of how clear she was with my bladder EMPTY.
when I went in for my 4d ultrasound, they told me to drink Orange Juice as it will cause the baby to be more active (holy CRAP, they were RIGHT!).... they regretted telling me that afterwards cause she wouldnt STOP moving and it was difficult for them to take still shots lol....
so.. call your doctors office and ask what THEIR procedures are, and what you should do (^ - ^)
Have fun!!!!!

No it isn't really like an x-ray or getting blood work. I actually tried to eat and stuff right before I went so that baby was active and I could see him move.

No, you don't have to drink anything. They used to require that you fill your bladder to the breaking point, but it is no longer necessary. If your doctor didn't mention anything about it at your last appt, don't worry about it.
Oh, and congrats!

You should drink alot of water to fill your bladder. This will make it easier to see the baby.

No, it doesn't matter, every time I've went I've never done anything special & the baby has always been very easy to see.
