If this was a trick question then i would say America considering Alaska is part of it.
If you were being serious then Canada because it is right next to it.

If by "America" you are referring to the United States, and specifically to the continental U.S. (48 states), then Alaaka is closer to Canada, bordering Yukon.
But be careful of your usage: Alaska is part of the U.S. , and North america, a continent, includes both Canada and Alaska, and many other countries.

What a stupid question ! Canada is part of America, Alaska is part of the United states which is part of America ... Don´t they teach you that America is a continent at school, or is the school system of the United States that bad ? (I assume you are a US Citizens, since there is only the US Citizens refers to their country as the continent).
An American can be a Canadian, a Salvadorian, a Brazilian or Venezuelan. There is 40 countries that form The Americas.

There is no common border of the "lower 48" with Alaska. Alaska's eastern border is with Canada.

Canada never owned Alaska. It was Russia. The US bought it because England was interested and Russia didn't want them to get it.
