You can have 1 or 2 or whatever your motherboard will accomodate. If you have 1gb of memory, then your 2 will be 512mb each.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean....

Memory Modules (As I believe you mean by "RAM Cards") are interchangeable, upgradeable, and there really isn't anything specific about the number of modules in a particular PCs. Typically, with modern PCs, there will be two 512 MB sticks instead of one 1GB stick to take advantage of a feature that gives faster memory access called "Dual Channeling". Its complicated and not that important to go into detail about...

But you can have anywhere from one to four sticks depending on your configuration. I built mine and I have two sticks of 2 GB each...

If they look the same- long, narrow, about an inch high and a millimeter wide with little black boxes running along the sides- and they plug into a slot that has little grabber arms on the ends, then yes, they are both sticks of RAM. :)

Handle them with care! Just a small electrostatic shock (that you wouldn't even feel) can damage them beyond repair!

All the best,

Depends on the computer. Most have at least two slots for RAM. Some have more. If you see two long sticks next to each other then they are both RAM sticks.

Some have two and some have more. Mine has four slots for RAM with a maximum allowable of 4GB RAM.

many PCs are designed so that RAM has to be installed in pairs, yes. And if there are only two slots, that is common on cheaper mobos.

They are not called "Ram cards", they are called memory/Ram stick slots. Ram slots vary from motherboard to motherboard.

Most motherboards have 4 slots. One, two, three, or all of them could be filled.
