Why give AID to USA HATERS????

Why do countries continue to trash talk the USA, continue to burn our flag every chance they get, continue to criticize our way of life, continue to swear that we are the anti christ, and continue to belittle the most powerful man on earth, Mr.GW Bush, but when mother nature destroys their cardboard homes, or when they need our expertise to help them out they have no second thoughts on who to call.??HELP, we need food, shelter, money, water..BULLSHIT, I DONT CARE ANYMORE..Why do they look upon us for aid and think its ok for them to run their PIE HOLE'S? We should just let them be, what , are they going to get mad at us?? We have our own problems at the moment.

DevilDog: Foreign Aid is an important part of our foreign policy. It is a complicated, misunderstood and often misapplied method. Often it is a knee jerk reaction to the latest media cause celebre. Often though it is used to help create more stable democracies and allies, such as in Colombia, Israel and Egypt (which have received large amounts of aid) and have in fact stabilized.

It's a lot easier to tell a country like Israel to play nice with their Palestinians when you have a $10 billion dollar aid package to pull the plug on or to tell Colombia to do something about the cocaine problem when you're giving them Blackhawks to combat it. It's even better when you stop telling them that they can't use those weapons against the "communist" guerillas guarding the drug dealers.

In the end, our foreign aid financing is a drop in the bucket of our budget and while I can agree that there are nations unworthy of what we give, I can fully endorse proper policies which build schools for a few hundred to thousand dollars a pop and train foreign militaries in human rights.

I believe that our foreign aid should support American interests and US businesses rather than give away Toyota trucks and prevent our allies from combatting guerillas that would turn their countries against us. A robust Mexican economy is in our interest as is a stable and democratic Liberia and Iraq. We *can* do good things for all of these countries while also promoting our interests and our businesses while putting stable democracies on the borders of our enemies.

I believe we should cut off all aid to any counrty that hates the USA. After all we do for them, food, frist aid, gas, oil we give them everything and then they turn around and stab us in the back. I say to hell with them, Cut off all aid from America and then lets see how long they last.

I'm with you Lavadog. Remember when Iran had that huge earthquake a few years ago? Ahmadinijad actually had the nerve to say we weren't giving enough aide because of political reasons. We gave more than any other country. IT was something like $30 million.

When mother nature destroys homes in the USA (like at the case of Hurrican Katrina), these "USA HATERS" send assistance to the USA too, while the anti-Christ occupants of the White House don't send aid to the citizens of their own country... Anyway, if I may ask your question in a different way, it will be: Why doesnt the US give aid only to USA LOVERS, such as Saudi Arabia, human traffickers and penis cutters in Kosovo, "color revolutionalists, the ICTY and other "pro Christ"?

The Germans and Japanese hated us so much, they killed thousands of our soldiers in WW II. We went on to rebuild their entire countries and they are now our allies.

If we, as a nation, had provided similar support to Germany following WW I, there most likely wouldn't have been a WW II.

Supporting those who slander us discredits those who rant the loudest. Ignoring their needs merely provides fuel to fire their hate.

Ask the multinational corporations and their stockholders why we are nice to them. Maybe because those countries have natural resources that they want to exploit. It's certainly not because they are humanitarian.
