Most of the time, they don't even give anyone points even though several people have answered it step by step. I'm really tired of lazy students posting homework questions here.

I think you get my point. They are so lazy they wont even hand out the 10 points, even though people probably saved them hours. I don't have any problem helping people out if they write more than "Solve this problem: x" You can usually tell what kind of person the student is just by the way they write the question. For every 1 that says "I tried but am gettng stuck" you have 10 more that are rude and just want an answer. It doesn't bother me that much when they don't give 10 points because i can just vote for myself but i still think it's rude especially when they get the right answer.

Part of the pleasure of my day is trying to help some of these students. Not do the work but to help them.
I DO HOWEVER WISH THEY WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO SHOW THEIR APPRECIATION BY GIVING A BEST ANSWER. NOT ONLY DO WE GET 10 POINTS /fba...............BUT THEY GET 3 FOR DOING IT.
About 2% take the time to respond .
But that is not goint to deter me. I will continue to make my contribution to their education as long as I can.
Always with the thought , what if that person grows up to be the president.
Joe, where would you like for them to post them?
If you are sick and tired of NEVER getting best answer points from them then Vote for yourself.
Or just don't select this category. I know it's frustrating , but if you can, help them, do it with no thought of yourself.
Remember school was pretty frustrating at times .!!!
Good Luck to you

Yes it does. As a writer, I especially have problems with the plagiarists! GRRRR. Or the ones who want summaries of books! Generally I'll tell them how to write one instead of where to find one and ASSURE them that I knew all along that's what they wanted; that they were not trying to cheat. I also admit it's fun to answer some of them when I can turn their questions into lectures on cheating and truthfulness. :) Gives me a chance to get creative and get my point across!

I will point kids in the right direction. Show them how to write an essay or do a math problem.

But just as bad as the kids are those who do the work! And they do it for a measly 10 meaningless points! I mean get real here folks. What IS this stupid point system anyway? Just something Yahoo dreamed up so we'd be "competitive" and keep coming back.

I'd much rather tell the kids off and collect a few thumbs down rather than let them totally get away with it! It's harmless entertainment.

It annoys me more when people are like "zomg essay help plz~!!!11111eleventyone!11". And then you click on it, and the question is like "Plz help me write an essay on the Industrial Revolution for Friday plz + ty". Like, wtf? Ok, I can give you essay writing TIPS, but if you're going to be a lazy behind about it, why do you even bother? By the time you actually get enough answers together, I bet you could have alrady written 2 essays.

yeah i think it is annoying when alot ofthe answer can be found by just searching the net for a couple minutes. but like the math questions i dont mind cause we all get stumped by them now, and alot of the parents or whoever werent even introduced to what there kids are learning now.

Yes, agreed, it's most annoying. They will just post ALL the questions (even if they are of similar kind). This shows that they don't even want to learn. Those are the types we ought to discourage.

It annoys me when kids expect the people on here to do their homework for them, but I don't mind if someone comes on and says that although they've read through their homework assignment, they still don't get it.

I agree. I don't mind helping out for someone whose stumped, but some people will post their whole assignment hoping someone will do their homework for them!

I AGREE!!!! i am so sick of seeing homework help, the whole point in homework is to help the kids learn what they are doing by themselves. Glad someone finally said it too.

Well, they're cheating at their own risk, since, if they haven't done the work, they have no way of knowing if their "helper" is right!
