Im 17 years old growing up in a tough neighborhood in the united states. Hope you know what i mean when i say tough. Anyways, at night my mom goes for a walk for exercise, i go with her because its night and the streets are dangerous for anyone at that time. Dont want anything to happen to her. My friends call me a momma's boy for doing this, should i stop?

I would say you are a concerned son, not a Mama's boy! When you go out for a walk, you are spending quaility time with your mother, not just "protecting her". It's very cool when a guy can treat his mother with respect and it shows he will become a good husband when he is ready.

My husband can be a mama's boy sometimes. He sometimes listen to her and do things when she asks him to. At times he will not stand up to her and tell her that he is an adult. He is concerned about making her upset at times when he needs to concentrate on my relationship with him!

However, sometimes he does act like an adult who doesn't need permission from his mom! He has been getting better and is learning that you can be there for your mom and help out, but you don't have to act like you still live at home. He has gotten more independent!

A very important part of the quality of a man is the way he treats the women in his life. All of the women in his life!

I hesitate to call these guys your friends-they value appearances over your mother's safety. You just keep on taking care of your Mom...and try to make new friends, with values similar to yours!

No you shouldn't stop. Your mom raised a good son. That means you care for your mother. Your friend don't understand the kind of love you have for your mother and protecting her. That's good. It can also determines how good you treat your girlfriend if you have one.

Of course you shouldn't stop. Don't they love their mothers? This shows she has done a great job at raising you. If you do stop and something happens you will never forgive yourself. Don't worry about what your friends say....tell them your Mom's worth saving, too bad theirs aren't....lol jk

No! Of all people, you should know that your mom's safety is more important than what your friends think. If your friends can't accept this part of you then maybe they aren't your friends.

It takes a real man to not listen to the bull and do what he believes is the right thing to do.

maybe your friends are jealous because you and your mother do something together?

perhaps they aren't as fortunate as YOU and are jealous?

whatever it is, i believe that continuing to be protective of your family is a wonderful thing.

take care.
