At this point I'm not concerned about sharing files. Basically two part question here.
1) If I connect an imac and Dell PC to a router can they both share the same internet connection?
2) Can they both use a common printer without additional software &/or hardware?

1) yes

2) only if the printer has EtherNet connection built in and connects directly to the router. [Mine does] And, of course, assuming you have the correct printer drivers on each machine [they likely came with the printer].

you will could desire to envision alongside with your ISP to confirm what number IPs they have reserved for you. i understand my ISP provides as much as 4 IP adresses for my ADSL modem, so i will hook a community swap with as much as 4 gadgets related to it. i assume that "device link" demands guy or woman IP adresses, regardless of the reality that i don't understand for valuable. Hook the 2nd XBox on on your router in case you could, and see if that works. in the experience that your router does not have an open port, you should in basic terms hook a community swap to it, and then run your xboxes in the process the swap to the router. If that works - you're carried out. If not, you will could desire to hook the turn directly to the ADSL modem, and then hook each router into the swap (for this reason you will need 2 IP adresses assigned rather of one). i've got self assurance you would be comfortable with the Modem->Router->swap->2XBoxes however.
