Do you mean that the brochure will have a "fold" on the page so that an 8.5x10" page is folded in half?
If so, then set the page to have two columns and the page to be either portrait (fold down the length of the page) or landscape (fold across the width of the page.)

The other suggestions here don't seem to take into account page ordering. If your brochure is only two pages long, no problem, but if it's longer, pages one and two will be at opposite ends of the assembled brochure.
Word does have a brochure mode, but I'm not sure it solves this problem either. In any case, here's how to get to it:
1.Click the File->Page Setup menu item.
2.Click the Margins tab.
3.In the Multiple Pages list box, select Book Fold.
4.Click OK.
Good luck.

Hello
Microsoft and other companies as well have templates ready for you to use FREE. You must be connected to the Internet to get the free templates
1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Left click your mouse on File
3. Left click your mouse on New
4. Find your way to Templates on the right hand panel -- type Brochure in the "Search on Line For" box
5. Left click your mouse on Go
6. An option page will show you many different styles of brochures; the one you want is the 8 1/2 x 11; landscape; two-fold
Click on the template to open it and it will be all set for you to type your own information -- the landscape mode and everything you need is done for you
If you wish to save the location for Microsoft's templates and other goodies in your favorites or bookmarks copy this internet address into the white box at the top of the screen where the www address goes to the left of Go

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awtau
Manually type in each page number in the footer and have it right-alined. The other option would be creating it in three separate documents and having Word number it automatically, but I've never done anything more complicated than simple 1, 2, 3 so I'm not sure if it's possible to get it to do this for you.

It's really easy ... put it into 'landscape' (on it's side with the 'long measurement' on the top and bottom) and divide that page into two ... you then will have a '2 page' brochure ...

It's better to make it as two pages in the Word document, and then print two pages on one sheet when you go to the print command.
