I am about to remove my storage heaters which are used to heat house.
What procedure/Tips to make sure i do not eletrocute myself
when removing cable and wires.
Is it safe to just turn of control unit housing fuses and then remove

Turn off the consumer unit for the heating circuits, which will be different from the light and power one. Then you can safely remove the isolator switch adjacent to each heater, with this removed, disconnect the FLEX going to the heater, NOT the supply cable to the switch. Replace each of the still connected isolators/connection units to the boxes. You can now dismantle and remove the bricks from the heaters and dispose of them. There is no need to turn the mainswitch on again as it will not be powering anything unless you have an E7 water heater circuit??

I would switch the electricity off at the main fuse box just to be on the safe side. Obviously make sure that you don't leave any exposed live wires when you have finished removing the heaters. Personally I would get a professional in to do the job.

I strongly suggest that you contact your local council, a lot of these older storage heaters contain asbestos.
Use an expert for this job.

use an electrican to disconnect them. dont throw them away as some landlord will buy them.thats how i disposed of mine.i got about £30.00 for each of them.all the best

Get an Electrician or someone who knows what they are doing.Don,t guess,be certain.
