Yes, Here's a story for you, After busting my butt to buy a house, 2 cars ,put money into savings etc. After paying for her to go to one school after another, paying for her health insurance, food ,clothes , jewelry and entertainment for years, I find out she's "doing" the neighbor.
The thanks I get is to lose the house I bought, 1/2 my savings, a new car and have to pay her almost $2,000 a month for 7 years .
All because she was bored and horney while I was at work.

If you want to protect yourself from a fate like this ,you would be wise to see an attorney before getting married, BUT even better is not to get married at all.

Yeah and with that in mind I will not burden you with the ugliness of the story but the moral is that the system is involved with the family courts and the child support system is a 24 BILLION dollar a year industry. Do you think they promote family values and the integrity of marriage? Tell you what you do, do a search of the Family Codes of your state on yahoo and browse through the laws and codes gingerly. There are codes that by law cannot be prenupped such as child support. Read the fine print in all codes and if you are still dead set on marriage prenup-it-up and consider sterilization. That within itself will only protect 50% or less of what you will lose. Give it serious thought and remember, unprotected marriage is as disastrous as unprotected sex and carries the same detriment.

Darling if that person is comfortable with the prenup go right ahead but if they are uncomfortable then there is a reason. Sometimes you have to take a long hard look at why they are not pleased about a prenup but I would be damn hurt for my husband to think that I would marry him for his money.

We both have very good jobs, high in society and we got our own money so to think of it when we didn't to when we have now hell if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't do it and neither will he. A marriage is built on trust and love and if there isn't going to be a functional marriage for you guys.
Congratulations and good luck

Prenups are good for about 3-5 years. After that, the courts have deemed that "things have changed" and the "marital assets, commingled in the relationship have surpassed the intended spirit of the prenuptial agreement"

In other words, it's a 3 year warranty with no renewals.

Yes, get a prenup. They can save your butt in case a divorce comes along. People don't like to think that a divorce can happen to them, but it can, be on the safe side and get a prenup.

I can see the need but one friend of mine who has money said why would you marry someone you did not trust enough that you had to get a prenup so I kinda go along with her scenario.

YOU SHOULD. a story of my good friend, she was 10 years married with this guy, thought that she could trust him with everything, no prenup whatsoever.. after 10 years, he just walked away with another younger girl, and there goes my friend, homeless, no job, no money!

In some states they are worthless. They can be good if one or both bring something sizable into the marriage that they would not want the other to get should there be a divorce. If neither of you have much, then it's really not necessary, and may not be binding anyway.

If you have something to protect then you should most defiantly get a prenup.
