When you are trying to debate a subject that is important. Is it this format here in YA that makes you want to take something important and just bash it to the ground ignoring it's significance and misleading others?
When your very government allows corporations to brainwash and manipulate you into thinking you need to have gas guzzling SUVS then forces the cost of fuel up, I mean we can debate healthcare/politics etc., the point is there are problems & the TIME HAS COME FOR CHANGE. What good do all the FEET DRAGGERS do when all they do is stand in the way of progress instead of help to find a SOLUTION?
Was it John Lennon who said (I know he said in a song and this is my philosophy in life too) THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS PROBLEMS....ONLY SOLUTIONS.
Why can't people work towards solutions...they fight for ridiculous things yet not fundamental needs.
We have to move forward in this world, cant stand still forever and ignore the fact that universal changes are needed.

My point Glen is that people will "tsk tsk" the problem but rarely do anything to solve it, but often will bend over backwards to impede anyone who tries.

The majority of folks tend to have their most basic fundamental needs met. Yet, some people try to look for problems that aren't really there. Where a majority may agree that "x" seems to work out nicely, a few might have issues with it, opting to push for "y." There will always be those who will always find fault with everything, no matter how insignificant.
People are always looking to find solutions to real problems, but there is rarely any solid agreement on what solution works best for all. Every individual has his or her own agenda on what is "for the common good."

The problem is that you think libs have all the solutions. Everything you said was in reference to Republicans stifling the solutions that Democrats come up with, but the opposite is true just as often. Here are some issues, Republican and Democrat, that have come up since Bush has been in office that have been shot down by one party or the other.
1) Social Security funding being privatized
2) Current illegals being given citizenship
3) Troops coming home from Iraq
4) New refineries being allowed in Alaska
The list goes on and on. Everything is deadlocked by the senate having to pass a bill by 60%, and the President having to sign off on it. It's just easier to blame one party when things don't go your way.

Bravo!! Good question!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing will change because the people in control of the media have all the power, they have all the money and they control our gov't. The bottom line is, nothing will change because some may have to give something up. And we can't have that.

Well, obviously you have to have problems in order to have solutions. The logic is wrong there.
People must first recognize problems in order to create/implement solutions. It's a cause and affect relationship.
Some feet draggers probably stand in the way of change because they take on mroe traditional roles.

You can't get a good explanation out of Government because they are spoiled rich kids, that went to get their law degrees to bully everyone else. However change everyone is afraid, change , everyone is afraid to be that leader, it is even something that people hide from .
That person that will lead, why because if you are different or by yourself you might be hated, but who will be the first to lead and make a difference, if everyone is afraid to step forward first.

Until you get rid of the radical factions of the political process, there will be no solutions.
